Who We Are
Appalachian Armor started in a garage while the three of us were building rock rails for Bruce's XJ and a front bumper for Chris's TJ. We decided we wanted to build our own transfer case skid plate as well so we broke out the cardboard for making a template and went to work, same as we did for the TJ non-winch bumper. After how pleased we were with the skid plate we decided to manufacture about five of them and test the market. Because of our price point combined with the excellent quality, they were gone near instantaneously! We then realized we might be onto something. We did not feel like there was a company out there offering a high quality, heavy duty product at an affordable price for the guy, or gal, not wanting to dump thousands and thousands into their vehicle. Our products satisfy the protection and price requirements of those from budget-minded occasional off-roaders to the more frequent off-road travelers. If you're the hardcore off-road type, well then you got lucky, we're not making armor out of tin here.
Our goal is to provide affordable products without sacrificing on quality for your vehicle. We aim towards the people like us. What are we? We are off-road enthusiasts who use our Jeeps for anything from finding the most remote camping location, best spot for a photo, or the most wild trout streams around, not to mention the most untraveled trails around!. We may tackle anything from your standard forest service roads to mild and medium trails. We want to be prepared for whatever our Appalachian mountains can throw at us,
hence the name Appalachian Armor!
